A saved reply can include headings, emphasis, lists, links, and images. The app receiving the snippet controls what it accepts, so check the result in the destination where you intend to use it.
Format a reply
- Select a snippet and choose Formatted under Content.
- Enter your text, then select the words or paragraphs you want to format.
- Use Bold, Italic, or Underline for emphasis.
- Use Paragraph style for Paragraph or Heading 1–3.
- Open Lists for a bulleted or numbered list, to remove a list, or to change indentation.
The formatting toolbar’s More menu includes Fonts, Text Color, Link, and Clear Formatting. Select the link text before choosing Link. Enter an https, http, or mailto address; leave the address blank to remove its link.
Save and insert or copy the snippet into the intended app. A rich-text editor may retain formatting that a plain-text field cannot use. If the result looks wrong, test the same snippet in a rich-text TextEdit document to distinguish the saved content from the destination’s behavior.
Keep code and plain text predictable
Use Plain Text for code or text that needs literal whitespace. Tab inserts indentation in the editor; Control-Tab moves focus to the next control. Save and compare the pasted result with your original, including blank lines and leading spaces.
For a formatted or image snippet, Insert as plain text keeps the stored content but sends its text without rich formatting or images. Save that preference. Switching the content editor itself from Formatted to Plain Text instead asks you to remove the saved formatting; read that confirmation before accepting.
Add an image
Choose Insert → Image and select a local image. Inspect its preview before saving. In a template, move the image block with its arrows to place it between the surrounding text blocks.
Use the image controls to replace or remove it when needed, then Save. Removing an image from a snippet does not remove the original file you imported.
Plain-text output omits images. Use a destination that accepts image content and inspect the actual pasted or inserted result. Keep essential instructions in the text as well, so the message still makes sense if its image is unavailable.
Manage image storage
Open Settings → Storage → Manage Image Storage. The window shows the number and size of local image assets, and how much is unused. Refresh updates those totals.
Identical images share a local file. Saved snippets, recovery drafts, and Recently Deleted entries retain their referenced images. Remove Unused Images removes only assets no longer referenced by those items; read the confirmation before proceeding.
The totals cover local image assets, not library text or exported backups. Prefer Export Library or Export Personal Backup when transferring the library. If you copy the raw library file yourself, keep its accompanying .assets folder with it.
