A support reply often has a few predictable variations. A choice field can select the response, a checkbox can include an optional sentence, and conditional sections can keep unrelated questions out of the form.

Start with a saved fill-in template. Use Preview after each change, and Save when the result is right. Previewing and completing forms requires an active trial or license.

Offer a short list of answers

  1. Choose Insert → Field → Choice.
  2. Give the field a useful name, such as Delivery method.
  3. Add choices with Add Choice: for example, Email and Post. Remove unused entries.
  4. Set Required if the person completing the form must choose.
  5. Choose a default, or leave No selection to require a fresh decision.

The chosen value becomes part of the assembled snippet at that block’s position. Put punctuation and surrounding spaces in neighboring Text blocks. Preview each choice to check the complete sentence.

Use a checkbox for optional text

Choose Insert → Field → Checkbox and name it Include follow-up. Set Text when checked to I’ll follow up tomorrow. and leave Text when unchecked empty. Add any required spacing to the text itself or adjacent blocks.

Choose whether the checkbox should start checked. If it exists only to control a conditional section, both output values can be blank.

Reuse an answer without asking again

Use Insert → Repeat Field and select an existing field. A repeat inserts that field’s answer again; it does not create another question.

For example, ask for Project name once and repeat it in the heading and closing sentence. Move the repeated block using its arrows. Keep the original field: removing a referenced field can leave the template invalid.

Show a section only when it applies

  1. Add an always-visible Choice or Checkbox field to control the condition.
  2. Expand Conditional Sections and click Add Conditional Section.
  3. Give the section a name, such as Postal delivery.
  4. Under Show when, select Delivery method. Set Equals to Post.
  5. On each block belonging to that section, change Include from Always to Postal delivery.

Preview with Email, then with Post. Only the matching section’s content and questions should appear. Required fields inside a hidden section do not need answers. Keep the controlling field outside the section it controls.

Before removing a field or section, move or remove its references. Read validation messages and preview again before saving.

Remember answers deliberately

In the fill-in form, Remember this answer stores that field’s completed value locally. Leave it off for details that change each time. Use Forget saved answer to clear one value, or Snippet Options → Forget All Saved Answers for the snippet.

Remembered answers are different from template defaults: defaults are part of the saved definition and travel in an ordinary library export. Personal backups also carry remembered answers.
